Trying to find balance in routine... Now things are very different!

Sometimes life can pass by without you paying too much attention to it, and other times things happen at a certain time we never forget. When it comes to our lives and the personal things that go on behind the scene, things can change without much notice. Having a routine for so many years and then not having anything to do at all is a change we usually remember. But what about that summer get-a-way in '08? The kind of change I'm talking about today is the subtle change in routine. I've been situated in the country for a few months now, but I still don't have a regular routine worked out. Being in a different place, in a different town, living a different life. Routine takes times. And the older I get the more I have grown to not liking change so much. Of course there's no way to stop change! But who knew things would be so different? The usual things I do everyday has taken on a new shape. Getting up everyday with the same agenda has changed. The people has changed. People I've known for years. People we've had good times and vacations. And now I don't see them anymore. Not everyone likes the change we made moving to the country. Starting over again takes time and patience. Getting to know new friends and family that live close by will help with the new routine. Even tho the years have passed quickly and my life looks different, I'm still thankful. Being in my late 40's and changing my life is a great thing to do. But I had no idea that things would be so very different from before. The years I spent doing different routines and schedules...and now I'm having to re-do a routine, a schedule! The slowness of time in the country takes some getting use to. No more late night runs to the grocery store! Around here the grocery store is 20 miles away! When you make a trip to town, you make it count. Going out to eat or just making a quick run at the corner store has changed! So the best way I've found to get back to a routine is let the routine come to me. Things that need my attention on a daily basis gets worked into the schedule...and so on. I don't have much on my plate yet but I bet you already know it won't take long before I have more things to do around here than I want to actually do! And so it has begun! The new life! Routine!... Embrace it, love it, live it...everyday!
