Country cat...
One thing everyone always says about moving to the country. "Get some Cats". So once we're settled for a couple of months we got us a cat. She was actually a kitten when we got her. My husband's cousin found a stray kitten in her front yard. The kitten kept coming around so his cousin caught the kitten for us. She was a stray. It had been several years since I'd had a cat. I had mixed feelings because it was yet another something to look after. I already have two dogs. Nevertheless, I wanted her. She was beautiful and was very attached to me right from the beginning. One of the first things I did was take her to the veterinarian to get spaded and shots. After that we let her go outside. By the time she went outside she was bigger and fixed. I named her Puss because the name just seemed to fit. I had forgotten how much joy and calm cats bring to you're life. When we first got her I was thinking about all the rodients she'd keep away from the house. But you know what? Now I never think about that. She is such a great cat and she comes around always at the right time. I keep food and water for her so her really don't have to do much hunting out of necessity... Lol. All-in-all, Puss has turned out to be a great country cat for our property but mostly for me!
